Fall 2023: First Time Working with an Articulator by Mounting 3D printed casts

This was a very fun lab that was all about the importance of capturing accurate occlusion. We used a semi-adjustable arcon articulator (class III articulator). Taking specific measurements (i.e. intercondylar distance, interocclusal record) allows the dentist to have the patient's oral cavity at any given time of day. The patient's unique anatomy is always with you!! That's so cool!

Mounting stone (MS) sets very fast within 2-3 minutes, thus you need to work fast and as neat as possible. Working with MS material gets very messy. The MS can be smoothed with wet sandpaper sponge.
